I love the way the Butler basketball program is run and how Brad Stevens conducts himself. The program plays in Hinkle Fieldhouse, a US National Historic Landmark, that was built in 1928 and served as the film site for the final game in “Hoosiers.” The fieldhouse, in my mind, symbolizes the program. I think the situation at SMU is extremely interesting. It’s either going to end with them climbing the ranks of college basketball, upgrading their facilities, and becoming a player in the Big East, or it’s going to backfire and send them spiraling below mediocrity. Bill Simmons is phenomenal. There’s no denying it. That’s why this is interesting to read. Everybody knows who’s involved in the MVP race and who’s seriously involved, but he says some interesting things and points out interesting stats. Real interesting read. I feel like the Thunder are one of the teams in the NBA that people love to talk about the most because Durant is fun to be a fan of, the team is so young, and they genuinely seem to enjoy playing together. The perspective is understandable and probably true, but it’s crazy to think that dealing a hooper like Harden is actually in the best interest of an NBA team. Boobie recommends the article.
